Edwards Haps and Mishaps

We’ve had a busy few weeks…I’ll need to update you all on a lot of things soon…and I will. Soon. I don’t have time right now…Preston is turning into a cranky-pants, that’s my cue. Bed time. I should probably put him to bed earlier…anyway, here are few few fun pictures of our beautiful Sacramento Temple. We wanted a nice, big picture of the temple to go over our mantle, so we set out to take one this week. Here is what I came up with.

We saw that Preston’s pre-arranged best friend Will had just had his very first, very own ice cream cone…so we thought it was about time Preston got his very own too. And of course, we brought the 4th member of our family along, the camera…and my mom :) We went over to Dairy Queen and so many of the pictures were just too cute, I needed to share. He loved it! And he also LOVED rolling around on the filthy parking lot trying to show off for the two 12 year-old girls eating by us. I’m not sure what diseases he picked up…hopefully none, but his hands were literally black when we got in the car. Yuck.

Here is a video…mostly for family who don’t get to see Preston all the time but you are ALL welcome to watch it…and Burgess I know you will be greatly impressed at my cinematographic talent (…not)

Preston went to the doctor for the first time in a LONG time…mostly because going to the last doctor was a total nightmare and I would leave that nasty pale pink office almost in tears every time…this guy was WAAAAAAAAY better.

Weight 28.9 inches (70th percentile)

Height: 36 inches (95th percentile)

Head: 19.75 inches (80th percentile)

The doctor said he was pretty big and then asked “wow, how big is his dad?”

me- “uhhh…not very big…”

(no offense babe…)

He must get it from grandpa…

So all in all, he’s a healthy growin’ boy. And we love him.

Once again, I’ll bombard you with pictures from the past week. Preston and Jackson had fun playing in the wading pool last week. Even though the water was straight out of the hose…FREEZING. Kids don’t seem to care. We also went back to the beach to visit some of our friends…and on the way there Preston threw up all over the back seat. That was pleasant…the smell of cheese three hours to the beach and three hours back. I seriously almost lost it myself from the smell…I think he just drank WAY too much and it all came back up. Luckily we needed our oil changed anyway so we stopped cleaned up, got the oil changed, and were off again. He seemed fine the rest of the day. We stopped in Santa Cruz and then went on to Monterey. We went to Monterey Bay Aquarium while there and Preston was LOVING all the fish. He even got to touch a sea urchin…though remind me never to go there on a Saturday again! Too many people!!  Regardless, we had fun and wish we could have stayed a lot longer there in Monterey. It’s amazing.

And one last thing. Preston is turning into a boy more and more every day! He has so many “ouchies” from running too fast for his little feet, or trying to climb up things he’s too small for, and who know where half the other ones come from! Seriously. They used to heal before he had a chance to get a new scab…but now it seems there are no breaks and soon there might not be any more spaces left for new “ouchies.” And I am sure the accidents will only get worse…so I’ll be grateful he just has scrapes and bruises for now.

Here are a few of the pictures that made the cut…I had to limit myself because it was just getting out of hand. I had a bunch before that I had ready to post…and then I have more now…so there are some from the park with Jackson and Nolan, our garden goods…a few from the park with Addison and Cat, some from the “Fountains.” Even though it was raining we wanted to get the kids out…and what is better than some free entertainment at the fountains! We also have some pictures from Preston and Addison’s first beach trip. We headed out to Stinson Beach in the bay area. Cat and Shaun sat up front, then in the back there was a car seat on either side and then me, squeezed in the middle. My buns barely fit and I couldn’t sit back…I thought I’d be fine and then the mountains came…the ones you go through to get to the ocean. The ones that are winding and seemingly never-ending. The ones that I thought I’d lose my breakfast on…I get car sick driving around town. Luckily all stayed down but I felt like the one time I was on the “Berry-go-round” and the carni though we were having a blast screaming and yelling so he left us on the ride longer…terrible feeling. Sooo….we finally reached the beach and Preston LOVED it!! He loved the sand, chasing the sea gulls (who, by-the-way, totally weaseled their way onto our snack bag…those rascals!) climbing on the lifeguard stand, and everything else. It was fun to watch him have so much fun! I really want to go back. Sad to think that since we have lived here…almost a year and a half…that was our first beach trip! We’re nuts. The birds with our Cheese Nips!

A TON has gone on this last week…what I mean mostly is that I have a lot of pictures from the week to post, which usually means some picture-worthy things happened. Preston’s first beach trip, Aunt Cat and cousin Addison have been in town visiting from Utah, and my feet are pruney and muscles aching because I just got home from my first HALF MARATHON! WOW. Did I seriously do that? Kelsey and I had doubts…a lot of them…but we finished and it’s an awesome feeling! I have always wanted to run a full marathon but you know what? I think half marathons are pretty great. I may just stick to those! Good job Kelsey and Trish who ran with me!! And THANKS to Shaun, Preston, Dad, Cat, Addison, Jami, Tim, Jackson, Nolan, Glen and Aaron who came to cheer us on! It really helped a ton! I’ll post more from the week later.
