Edwards Haps and Mishaps

When Shaun and I were first married I was always excited to cook for him before he came home from school and work. I would try out new recipes and it seemed like there were a variety of different dishes. Now I am scrounging to scrape together something before I have to pick him up and most of the time I can’t think of anything quick so I end up waiting until he gets home and by then he is starving and just snacks on Cheez-its or chips until dinner is ready…by then he usually isn’t that hungry! Also, I have slipped into this habit of cooking the same few dishes over and over again!! It’s getting old. My mom said when we are living with them I can cook dinner for everyone so there will be food in the house and we can all eat together…so there won’t be as much room for experimenting because more people are going to be eating what I cook and if any of you know my dad he is the master chef in our house so my dishes need to pass his approval. Pressure’s on. I was wondering if any of you had some quick meal ideas that taste good too. Shaun’s mom and mine have given some great ideas over the past couple years…chicken rolls, tortilla soup, cheesy goodness (if any of you are interested, I can get you some of my regulars) Let me know what some of your regulars are!

As for our family and what we are doing…I wasn’t going to dig the Christmas decorations out of the storage unit since we are moving right after the holiday, but it just wasn’t feeling like Christmas so I finally gave in and put everything up yesterday! It definitely feels more festive and it is fun pulling out all of our ornaments and remembering the ones from childhood and also seeing all of the ones that we have acquired since being married. They all have stories behind them so it is fun remembering each one as we put them on the tree. I am excited to start our Edwards family traditions with Preston…it’ll be a little bit more exciting once he actually knows what is going on though! I hope you all enjoy this holiday season!

We have had this website for quite some time now and I have just recently become some sort of twisted blog junky! I am not sure what happened but after I realized that other people have blogs too then I started jumping from one blog to the next, finding friends that I never knew had blogs…and then moving on to reading about people I don’t even know! Laughing with them crying with them (seriously.) It is kind a neat way to keep up with people that you don’t get to talk to very often. I get to read about Cooper and Alisha’s family and their free trip to Disney on Ice and the whole poop fiasco in the tub, I watched Tim bash his head into the light fixture while playing soccer in the house with Jackson, I can see where Amy and Burgess are going on their honeymoon…Marzee, you need a blog now. Having a blog really is a great way to keep in touch with those you don’t get to see very often. I don’t feel so out of the loop when I can hear about and see pictures of everyone’s lives. Technology is great when used right! Now I just need to balance the time I spend on the computer with the time I spend doing housework :)

My husband is at work right now. I miss him. It’ll be nice when he will have a set schedule and won’t have to work until 10 pm! He only does it once a week, but still! Ok, time to go scrub the bathroom, wish me luck! Love you all!!

Something weird happened to me today. Shaun left for the BYU vs Utah football game with his good friend Michael Papworth. Though my husband was nowhere around I turned on the TV to the “mtn” (Our local Mountain West Conference station) and watched the entire game. What? I even found myself pounding my fist on the couch or saying “go, go, go!” In all of my life I never thought I would watch a football game by choice, let alone by myself. It was a weird feeling but I thought my husband would be proud. BYU came out with the win, which was pretty exciting because at the end there it didn’t look like it was going to happen. Go Cougars!

I hope your holiday was enjoyable, we had a lot of fun up in Kaysville. Preston didn’t enjoy his first Thanksgiving as much as we did though! We walked through the door and handed him off and immediately the bottom lip shot out, his face started to wrinkle, and he just started wailing! It was so sad (but kind of cute at the same time!) I think it was a mixture of hungry, tired, and all the new faces. He is getting to the point where he knows mom and dad and new faces aren’t as welcoming as they once were. Oh well, he warmed up as the night went on. He got to meet his new best friend Will Papworth…it’s kind of like an arranged marriage, but a friendship…and arranged friendship? Anyway, that would be great if they actually did become best friends!My mom’s high school best friend has a daughter who is now my best friend so it’s definitely possible. Well, our kid is asleep so we better get in some quality husband, wife hang out time. Hope you all have a great weekend!

We have this bow tie that my little brother wore when he was a baby. I finally dug it out this Sunday and put it on Preston. He looked SO adorable… unfortunately he didn’t enjoy it too much so we relieved him of the bow tie after the pictures, but at least we got a picture out of it!! We’ll try again when he is a little older!

Thanks to Christer for helping us with the new look. It had been 2 years, I thought we could use a change! Hopefully it is still easy to navigate.

Well, we are sitting here watching the BYU vs Wyoming game and Preston is glued to the TV…I guess he has only been alive for a few months and he hasn’t had much experience with a talking, flashing box. It’s kind of cool if you have never seen one.

Well, nothing else is really interesting in our lives at the moment so I’ll come back when I have something exciting to say! I hope you all have a great weekend!

Hi! Here is a picture of me at 32 weeks…the belly is getting bigger and bigger! Crazy! Anyway, I just thought I would post a picture of my tummy since I hadn’t in awhile and I think it has grown a lot since my family saw it. Maybe it hasn’t but I feel like it has! He is still very active and it is getting harder and harder to bend over or even to pick up something from the floor of the car and get out of the car are getting hard!! It will only get worse, I’m sure! I haven’t started swelling yet, sometimes when my feet or hands are hot they kind of feel swollen but so far it hasn’t been bad. The temperature is supposed to get up into the 90′s this week, so I am not really excited about that but oh well! Anyway, I hope you are all having a great week! We love you!

Camping was nice but even nicer to get home :) a couple sleepless nights for several reasons (I wont go into detail about them for you!)were definitely enough for us! We had fun fishing though! Shaun caught about 6 fish and i caught one! So that was nice and today we went with Nick and Lexie Cottle to 7 peaks water park. I couldn’t really do much but thats ok, it was still fun and nice to get in the water. We hope you are all enjoying this Memorial Day weekend! We love you all!

We have been having problems with the pregnancy and, well, we received the news today that the little baby that was in me is not longer in there. But you know what, whatever happened was God’s will. We prayed that his will be done and that is just what happened. For some reason that little one wasn’t ready to come down. We will be trying again soon, and at the very least we know that we have been blessed with fertility which is a blessing that many women do not have! So, all of you who were excited to be grandparents, aunts, uncles…2nd cousins…no worries! It will happen soon…or at least in the near future so just keep waiting and we’ll be working on it ;) We love you all and thank you for your prayers!

Sorry i havent posted the most recent pictures! Our camera batteries died and i keep forgetting to but new ones…so i can get anything onto the computer without being able to turn it on! So, sorry about that! Well, it is freezing and rainy out here. I am not ready for winter but i guess i dont really have a say in all of this so i better be optimistic about it! Wow, we are coming up on a year of being married! About this time last year i was preparing to go through the temple and we were planning a wedding! It doesnt seem like it was a year ago! Some days it seems longer than a year and some days it seems like yesterday. Its weird. I dont know what we are doing for the big 1 year anniversary…probably nothing too crazy. I won a $50 Visa gift card on Blingo.com (a search engine) so i was pretty excited abou that…and i think we will use it for a nice date!

Over the past weekend, we went up to Salt lake to visit Rachel Robichauxand little William. We all went out to PF Changs and it was REALLY good. I wish my stir fry and attempt at Asian food was that good! On saturday, Shaun watched a couple football games while i just did random things (library, store, quizzes, etc.) Then we went to hang out with Rebecca and Derek. Shaun works with Derek and I started running with Rebecca in the mornings. It was a lot of fun over there. Yay! we have a new couple-friend! Sunday we went up to kaysville and ate some WONDERFUL Swedish pancakes with the Edwards Fam, Cousin Brooke and Kelsey came too. It was really nice! its always great to be with family!

OK, now that i have bored you to death with our EXTREMELY exciting lives…I hope you are all doing well and MOM, i hope you are still planning to come out the weekend of the 7th. Dont get our hopes up ;). I LOVE YOU ALL AND TAKE CARE!!

This week is pretty crazy! We are preparing to move into Cooper and Alisha’s apartment. Althought it is a block and a half away, it is still pretty hectic! My family is also in town at a family reunion up at Aspen Grove. It is really beautiful up there! Some of the family members are a little “different” but oh well! Hmmm…what else? School starts for UVSC next week! I am excited to go back to school! Hopefully i get it finished! Shaun doesnt start until September 5th, so his break lasts a little longer.

Well, there is really nothing exciting going on besides the short few things i just talked about…so i think i will get back to working! Love you all!
