I need to document our Christmas with pictures but i have become kind of weird about how pictures on our blog are displayed…it really doesn’t matter at all but I like looking at a whole collage of photos and then I think of the time it will take me to do it and then i don’t want to put it together. So why do I even bother with it? I don’t know! Waste of time. But I still seem to care. That may be another reason my posts are so sporadic…so either I will stop caring and just put up the darn pictures or I will sacrifice a little time to put it all together. I should stop caring. But ANYWAY…let’s get to the point here.

January has FLOWN by. I mean, flown. Here are a few things that have happened:

- Shaun started his LAST first day of classes…if that makes sense…he started his last semester of school!!! May=GRADUATION.

- I had a birthday and turned older…28 now! WOW.

- I now have 4 to 6 weeks left of pregnancy! (Depending on my original due date, Feb 29…which my belly is measuring that size, or the due date they changed it to March 9…which is later and I don’t like to think I will last that long. I pray that I won’t!)

- Preston was able to visit his best buddies/cousins in San Jose with my mom for one weekend, and he kept counting down the days and was REALLY excited to have it be just him and his Nana…no mommy, daddy, or Ada. Such a big boy!

- Ada is talking more and more, it’s so cute. A few things we love are: “Mat-Maaaaaan”=Batman, “Boo-ba-game”= football game, though we are realizing this may also mean anything sports related, “Gup” with a nod=yes/yup.

I’m sure lots of other fun and exciting things have gone on around here…but then again, maybe not! I am feeling large and seem to hardly be able to move around. Bending down to pick things up, such a hassle. Just sitting up and breathing, getting harder. In and out of the car, making heaving noises. So, we don’t do a whole lot at this point, but hopefully life will return to normal in the next 6 months or so. We’ll see.

Here are a few pictures from a place nearby called Griffith’s Quarry. (And I didn’t even put them in a collage of any sort!) We took the kids and explored the old quarry a little bit. It’s a beautiful place…founded by Griffith Griffith…kind of funny.

Well, it’s true…our little Ada is 18 months old now! We love her an insane amount. She is a little drama mama already and right now it cracks us up…not sure if it’ll have the same affect when she’s a teenager, but we’l enjoy it for now. Anything her brother is doing she so desperately wants to copy and I always hear Preston tattling,

” MOOOOOM! Ada is Coffeeing me!”

“Preston, It’s COPYING me. And she just loves you. She wants to be like you.”

“Well, I don’t like her coffeeing me.”

“Ok. I’m sorry. It’s Copying…”

I hope one day, when she learns to actually play instead of destroy, that they will get along better! We’ll see.

She is starting to say all kinds of things. Our favorite things lately are Goooooooooo Cougars!, Ipad, and all her animal sounds. I love this age when they are learning to talk.

We love having her in our home and I know there is a lot more to share about both our kiddos but I’ll leave it at that. We love them. Shaun takes his last final today so hopefully we will be spending some good times together as a family in the next few weeks. We better if Shaun wants a happy wife…haaaaha….but seriously.

I guess I am getting back into my once a month updates again…it has been yet another terribly busy month! Where did November go? This month it has finally turned to cold…well, relatively cold…the leaves have fallen and thanks to the last few windy days the tree in our front yard finally shed most of it’s leaves. With Shaun studying for finals I have been tempted (only tempted…) to take it upon myself to rake the yard since it has been getting pretty covered but I didn’t want all my efforts to be wasted just to do it again as the rest of the leaves keep falling. And I am sure the neighbors would wonder why the big pregnant lady is outside raking by herself…one of them did give me a funny look and started to ask where my deadbeat husband was :), until he realized Shaun was out there with me today…

So fall is here just in time for winter and CHRISTMAS time!! Thanksgiving came, and it was lovely…aside from our cousins not being able to make it for dinner :( but I couldn’t wait to get to Christmas decorating this year. So after Thanksgiving we went out and got ourselves a Christmas tree and decorated it listening to the Forgotten Carols and a little Bing Crosby…It was wonderful!! Now I just need to keep Ada from ripping off all the ornaments! She is one little terror…luckily she’s cute.

The baby is growing, and I along with him! I feel like I was this big when I was about to deliver Ada! People think I am a lot further along than I am…and I have to tell them I still have 3 more months…I’m just going to get bigger! Well, I hope you are all enjoying the Christmas season! God Bless!

October is one of my favorite months!! Aside from being SUPER busy I think we had fun getting ready for Halloween and really starting to feel fall! I mean, it was actually pretty warm up until a week or two ago, but still, the light changes, the leaves fall and crackle…there is just something different in the air! If it could be fall al year, I think I would like that:) Shaun and I joke (but kind of seriously) that we would live in Rivendell, where it always has golden light and looks like fall, if we ever could…the elvish city from Lord of the Rings…we are pretty big dorks when it comes to Lord of the Rings…though it’s a toss up between living in the Shire or Rivendell…okay, I am done showing our super dorky side…Point is, we love fall.

In October we celebrated 6 years of marriage! Shaun and i went up to Auburn and stayed at a bed and breakfast, had lots of good food and no children running around us for a night. It was a great break! We did lots of Halloween crafting and dressing up. My pregnant brain can’t think of everything that we did so i’ll just put up some pictures :)

Oh, and I don’t think I wrote on here, but I am pregnant! I am 25 weeks along and due originally the 29th of February though after my 20 week ultrasound they changed the date to the 9th of March and say I am only 22 1/2 weeks along…though I still measure 25 weeks when they measure me…so WHO KNOWS! This baby will come when he wants, I’m sure. I’ll plan on the 9th of March so I can be pleasantly surprised when he’s early…IF he’s early :) So far everything is going well with the pregnancy so we just pray it continues this way! And I said HE because well, it’s a boy!

Shaun is still plugging away at school and both of us are READY for him to be done! This week is his last week of classes before cramming for Finals…and then ONE more semester!! He will graduate this May! We are pretty sure he has a job lined up but not positive yet. We should know for sure this week! And I think that’s it for now!

Fairy Tale Town

When I was a kid we LOVED Fairy Tale Town! I have a picture of me in the cheese at about 2 months old. For awhile now I wanted to take the kids there so the other day we just hopped in the car with some snacks and drove out there. They had so much fun!! I don’t think I had been there since I was about 8 so what I remembered was a lot bigger, we stayed for a couple hours and at the end Preston asked, “what’s next?!” And I looked around and we had literally been everywhere in the park! All it is is a bunch of fairy tale and nursery rhyme objects that the kids can climb, slide down, walk on…and that’s pretty much it! But what kids doesn’t like climbing all over things and exploring? So they had fun and all had naps that day!

Labor Day

We decided to go on a little adventure on Labor day since Shaun didn’t have school or work. I saw this trail awhile back, off Auburn- Folsom road that looked like a fun spot to explore…so off we went! Preston chose every direction we’d go (which it ended up mostly being a big loop) and every time we hit a dead end he would say, “see, I knew this wasn’t the right way.” It was funny. Most everything was brown and dried up but we did find this little oasis next to a creek with these huge, smooth granite rocks. It was a fun little family adventure! Hope you had a great labor Day!!

Utah

It’s taken a little while for me to be back from our trip mentally…it was so nice to not have to worry about cleaning my house, cooking, photography, leaking sprinklers, etc. etc. So maybe I just still didn’t want to deal with any of that, but I had to come back to reality at some point, right? So I am finally getting around to posting some pictures from the trip!!

The drive out wasn’t as bad as thought…and I was amazed at how beautiful it was this time! I have NEVER thought the drive across Nevada was at all lovely, but maybe it was because of the longer rainy season this year, everything was greener than usual and that contrasted with the blue sky and it was actually so pretty! So that was nice.

When we got there we had a great time just playing with the cousins and visiting with everyone…we did spend some lounging, lazy days…which I think are necessary :) We also got out and did a lot of fun things. We took the kids down to Provo and walked to Bridal Veil falls (the water was so cold it literally HURT…but it was still fun! ) We showed Preston where the cougars play…and even went to a scrimmage there later in the week. We went to the park, visited friends, went to a fun Children’s museum, and of course had lots of good food! Regarding the food I miss in Utah, I felt so gross…but so good :) There are quite a few restaurants that I miss in Utah and so when I go there I usually want to eat at at least ONE…well…I got to visit a few while we were there…Brick Oven, J-Dawgs, and Wingers. I am salivating. I think about food too much. ANYWAY…point is, we had a great trip and I could have stayed longer! I miss Shaun’s family and wish we all lived closer to each other!

My baby turned 4! I cannot believe it! He no longer looks like a baby. He looks like a boy. We love him dearly and he cracks us up all the time…who knows where he gets half the things he says. He has great sense of how others are feeling…sometimes if I look down or frustrated he will come over and lay his head on me, pat my arm, and give me a kiss. He is a sweet kid.

Preston, we love you and are so grateful that you are part of our family!!

Here are some pictures from his birthday…he REALLY wanted to go to Chuck E. Cheese and as much as I dread going to that place…it was his birthday and I knew he would love it. And actually we went on Monday night so there was barely anyone there and this was a newer one with lots of windows and very clean. We had fun!

Lake Tahoe

Every year my dad’s side of the family rents a cabin in Tahoe…it was one of my fondest memories growing up. Lots of stories from Tahoe! Though it would have been nice to go up there for a whole week…or even two :) we went up for just the day yesterday and is was awesome! I forgot how amazingly beautiful it is up there! The lake is perfectly clear and a lovely turquoise…wow.

I could have stayed a lot longer! Though, I may not have been able to enjoy it with the sunburns we all came home with!! I applied sunscreen TWICE to the kids…it was a 50spf spray on sunscreen…which I rubbed in…and the kids have some racoon eyes and random spots all over. Shaun…well, basically if you take off his shirt you might think he is still wearing a shirt. And I forgot to put sunscreen on just my back and well, it’s fried. So today has been pretty unproductive. Lots of whining by all :)

But anyway, here are a few pictures! Ada would stay still long enough to get a picture of her while Preston didn’t quite cooperate the same so there may be a few more of Ada…another reason being I couldn’t get enough of her duck swimsuit cover (which was mine and Kelsey’s when we were babies!) and her scrunchy face!

Since it’s been a month…

Or maybe even longer than a month…i figure it’s about time to update this sucker…don’t you? :) Lots of changes happened here over the last month so it’s been crazy busy. We moved…the moved again. We are still trying to unpack! We took a trip up to Oregon…I got to run in the Oregon Epic Relay from Portland to Eugene. It was hard…but yes, it was epic :) Of course we had to stop at Rice Hill and get ice cream on the way up there (that’s where we…along with the whole Edwards/Morgan family stops to get massive scoops of Umpqua ice cream on the way up to Portland…)

We also said goodbye to my brother and his family as they moved to Chicago! Preston’s best friends :( He still thinks we can just go visit them….whenever he hears that we are on the phone with Jami or Tim he asks, “Are they coming over?” Sorry buddy…but luckily we will get to see them all soon!

Then we had a nice 4th of July…just a fun little BBQ with family and some fireworks with the kiddos. We got this box of pretty small ones since Preston has been afraid of fireworks his entire existence…so most of them were pretty tiny but he loved it! It was fun that he was excited this year!

Life has just seemed so crazy lately I feel like I’m being dragged around and I can’t catch up or keep on top of anything! Hopefully I can get things to calm down for a minute and then maybe I will blog more…how many times have I said that? I don’t know:) Well, below are just a few random pictures…or more than a few…I didn’t put them in any sort of collage format so it’ll probably seem like a ton. Oh well. Just look at one picture a day and then it will give you something until the next time I blog…haha…kidding.
