Edwards Haps and Mishaps

It has been awhile since I updated…so here are a few tidbits of info about our lives lately.

I am ALMOST 34 weeks pregnant at this point.

Currently I weight as much as my dad and have surpassed my husband. Weird…but pregnancy better be the ONLY time in my life I can say that.

Shaun now has an internship for the summer! YAY! (I’d tell you more info, but I’m not completely sure how to explain…I’ll have to have him write something.)

My Parents celebrated 30 years of Marriage on Monday!

Preston has mastered to use of the mouse and is currently obsessing over Boowa and Kwala.

Books of choice before nap are “The 500 Hats of Bartholomew Cubbins” and “Johnny Crow’s Garden”

The last classes of Shaun’s first year of law school end in a week! (He still needs to endure finals…)

Thanks to the advice of Shaun’s mom we purchased a sound machine and we go to sleep at the beach or in the jungle fairly often these days. (And it has actually helped us sleep better!)

I know there are more random facts but can’t think of them! So here are a few random photos. Hopefully i will be back to write soon!

I meant to post these AWHILE ago…I think they are from February? But here are a few things we like to do when bored.

#1- make lots of bubbles and play in the sink. I can get dinner done and Preston is right there next to me, not picking his nose until it bleeds, eating his scabs, making new scabs, or pulling down his poop-filled pull-ups. (Yes, he has done all of those recently.)

#2-Playing in the rain, though we haven’t had much lately…which is pretty nice!

Other than that, pregnancy is going well…I am almost 30 weeks!! What? really? That’s crazy. I feel good…except for the aches and pains of having a small child lodged in your rib cage…otherwise, great! This little girl will be here before we know it!

Shaun is on spring break and that is just wonderful! Though he can’t escape the homework all week we have at least been able to get out and take walks, go to the park, bike rides (which I’m a real sight on the bike at this point…) I hope you are all having a great week!

Recently my awesome mother-in-law got me a sewing machine…and though I am still trying to become a master seamstress (actually very far from it…) I have come out with a couple decent looking projects. My most recent, a baby blanket for new baby sister! Not that I am trying to show off my work…but sort of I am because it actually looks like a blanket! I surprised myself. I know, I know, sewing two squares of fabric together shouldn’t be that hard…and it wasn’t, only after the fact that I sewed the edge on wrong and had to get out the seam ripper and really had no idea what I was doing, just guessing as I went until eventually my mom came in and saved my from myself and told me how to do it…which was WAAAAY easier than what I was trying to do. Sewing two squares together can be harder than I thought. So here is the finished product:

And then some photos of our recent trip to the Folsom Zoo. It’s pretty small, but perfect for a short trip and Preston had fun!

We attempted a photo shoot with Kelsey’s new little baby, Miller.  He is so precious!! Holding a teensy one makes me excited to have my own…though, I have to remember that it isn’t all cute clothes and snuggles…I have to keep reminding myself of that! I have to break my “equipment” into nursing again, and feed every couple hours…even through the night, change a zillion mustard poops (many of which will be up to her neck perhaps…) BUT, it is oh so worth it when I hear, “Mommy, you snuggle me?” or “Mommy, you nice girl. You priddy an you get flowers.” Kids are totally worth it.

And of course, I had to prop Preston up on the table…though I never get much from him…I still think he’s cute :)

Though I do realize it also has gray, orange, and blue…I am adjusting from buying boy clothes to GIRL clothes! As far as we could tell there is a girl growing inside me! Kind of crazy…I kept calling it a him…but now we know it’s not a him! Shaun was in shock…but once we got to Target he started throwing all kinds of girlie things into the basket…I think he is going to like having a daddy’s girl :)

Here I am, finally getting to Christmas. It was a lot of fun! And even though I thought I took my camera out a lot during our trip…it turns out I really didn’t! Oh well. Maybe next time. So below is a picture summary of our Christmas holiday in Utah.

Forgive me for being a terrible blogger…there was a time where I loved posting new and exciting pictures and telling all about what we were doing…but I have started to slack off. AND I wish I could say that this year I have resolved to be better at keeping this thing up to date…BUT I have way too many other areas in my life that need those resolutions first. Sorry blog. I don’t mean to neglect you.

Merry Christmas and Happy 2010!

I am finally starting to feel somewhat Christmasy! This month has just been busy, busy, busy…I feel bad that I haven’t had more time to enjoy the season! Here are a few things we did this past week to try and be festive.

Preston helped to make a lovely gingerbread house…he mostly helped eat candy while making it…then eat candy off of it after every meal because he wanted to “play with the gingerbread house.”  And I let him.

And then later that week we went to Dovewood Court…a court in our area that decorates like crazy every Christmas.

Soon we are headed to Utah to enjoy a white Christmas!

And YAY for Shaun who just finished his last final last night!! It’s nice to have him back :)

We have such lovely weather sometimes, the kids are barefoot at the park in December…though last night it SNOWED! Crazy. I’m sure the sun will return…soon…or at least at some point!

I think it is about time to post something new…do you agree? Considering the last pictures are from Halloween. Not that I have too much to report, and certainly not many pictures. What has happened to me? I’m sure my obsession will return. Here are a couple things that happened in November…

This HAS to happen at least once to every parent, right? I know I did it. Just when I think he is playing nicely by himself.

And then we had kind of a freak hail storm after Thanksgiving. I looked out the window and thought it snowed!!

That’s all for the photos. A few other things, just to update the few who actually check this blog anymore, today Shaun had his first FINAL! Scary! He said he can’t tell if he got an A or an F…he really has no idea how he did…so let’s pray it was the A…and I am feeling better now (WOO HOO!) I still feel ill some days but at least I have normal days most of the time and I can say I know what normal feels like once again! It’s a lovely feeling. Other than that we are just getting excited to visit all of our family in Utah!
