My Wonderful Weekend

6:32 pm by shaun. Filed under: Uncategorized

Last Saturday I got to go golfing again with some of my friends. Coop and Nick, my old friends and golfing pro’s, and also with Daniel and Brent who were first time golfers. We all had a great time. I am still not a very good golfer, but Nick and Coop advised me to only remember the good shots. They said when people ask how golfing was I should only tell them about the “great chip I had on the 7th” or whatever — I think that is probably a good idea.

As soon as I finished golfing I drove up the canyon to Deer Creek and went fishing with my Pop and two youngest brothers. It was so much fun fishing with them — it has been a long time since I got to spend time with them like that. It’s funny watching my little brothers get older and developing personalities. Neither of them are finished growing by any means but I like who they are turning into. Anyway, I caught one decent little rainbow trout and a bass smaller than the palm of my hand (we let it go) so we had some success. We didn’t have a net to bring them in with so Daniel went tromping into the water after them once we got them on the line.

After a long day it was nice to go home and see my wife. She spent the whole day at a “24 Hour Fitness” instructors trainning doing aerobics. She had a long day and so we just relaxed Sat. night, but it was nice just to be with her — I probably should have titled this post “My Wonderful Wife” instead. She works so hard and does so much for me, it’s incredible. I am a very lucky man to have Janelle as my wife and best friend. If you are reading this post you are probably lucky to know her as a daughter, sister, cousin or friend.

Ok folks, I am done. God bless you all!

Grades

2:30 pm by shaun. Filed under: Uncategorized

I got my grades from last semester all figured out! I ended up with four A’s and one A-! The A- is a little bit frustrating, but when it all comes down to it I suppose its not that big of a deal. It makes me wish I had given just a little bit more so that I could have gotten an A. Life is that way a lot too I guess. Sometimes we come up a little shy and regret it. I had a religion professor that said “almost” is the most depressing word in all scripture. I might agree. Anyway, this post just went entirely off track so I am done. Just wanted anyone who cares to know that I am happy with my grades last semester. God Bless!

Golfing with the Boys!

8:05 pm by shaun. Filed under: Uncategorized

I went golfing today for the first time in — I really don’t know how long it has been, but probably four years or more– anyway it was great time. I went with Mike and Nick to of my childhood friends and got smoked by Nick, but thats okay. I think this was the first time I have ever been golfing without Cooper. Usually I have him there to give me all the advice I need to get through the course, but i suppose I made do today wihtout him. I decided while on the course today that golf is a game I really ought to pick up. It is so relaxing to be with your friends on a nice day and play a round of golf. I hope some day I have the means to be able to go on a semi-regular basis. My wife says that I should have taken pictures to post on here but I guess it really just isn’t my thing, so sorry to anyone who was hoping to see my goofy face swinging a club. Hope everyone who actually reads this page is having a good day.  God bless!

Beach Trip

1:16 am by shaun. Filed under: Uncategorized

Janelle and I are in California this weekend. We just got back to Sacramento after spending the last few days at the beach. It was a lot of fun. We went to Monterey, Carmel, and a couple other fun beaches. One of the highlights for me was driving down “17 mile drive.” It’s a long winding road through some very nice golf courses, including “Pebble Beach.” It was amazing driving past Pebble Beach — I couldn’t see much of the course, but just being there was exciting. All along the drive we passed enormous houses that surely cost more money than I will ever see in my entire life — unless i find that sack of money that I’ve been looking for — and I felt like I was in a zoo. We drove by all the fenced off areas that we aren’t allowed to enter and oogled at the “exotic creatures.” Anyway, I just thought it was interesting the way we were seperated from the filthy rich in the same manner that we are separated from animals in a zoo. Anyway, just thought I would say hello, and I don’t have much more to say than that. God bless!

A CRAZY tuesday!

1:15 pm by Janelle. Filed under: Uncategorized

I just need to write this story…its something pretty interesting in my opinion. Something that doesn’t happen every day. So i was out and about dropping flyers off for the girls i do activity days with when i passed a girl holding a handicapped girl in her late teens. All the sudden another handicapped girl came out of the apartment and started yelling something. Then she started running away so the “care taker” who was about my age, started running after her and the handicapped girl (Heather) started attacking her!! I couldn’t just keep walking right by like nothing was going on so i asked if i could help. She asked if i would call someone for her. So i went inside and paged this guy for her and when i came back out there were a couple neighbors (who belong to the same organization helping handicapped) and they were trying to pin down Heather. She was out of control and so i ran over and started to help pin her down.

She had one girl by the hair and would not let go and so i reached over to try and release her hand and she BIT my bicep! I thought she would never let go…but she finally did…and after kicking and punching wildly for awhile she calmed down and they took her in the house.

Well, since i wasn’t a staff member…just a random girl trying to help…they had to call the police and paramedics to check my arm (which was black and blue, literally). Then they “strongly encouraged” me to press charges so that Heather can learn there are consequinces for her actions. I did the police cuffed her and took her away because she had “assaulted 4 people!”

It was one crazy night and i have a pretty nice battle wound to show for it. I went to the urgent care this morning and got some medicine to prevent infection…so i should be ok…but this was one story worth sharing!
