Happy 1 year Ada!

5:29 pm by Janelle. Filed under: News

It’s been awhile…a lot has happened! We moved a couple weeks ago…and we are getting ready to move yet again. Moving was crazy. How do we accumulate so much JUNK?! And why did I wait until I moved out to get rid of a lot of it? Anyway, thanks to ALL who helped watch kids, move boxes, and endured me through my showerless days :)

Preston had his last day of preschool a couple weeks ago! I can’t believe he is almost 4 and finished a year of preschool!! My baby isn’t a baby anymore :( And neither is my other baby…well, she still is but she is growing fast!! Walking, talking (sort of…) and she’s now a big ONE YEAR OLD!!

I took a gazillion photos at her party and forgive me for the picture overload but I kept thinking “oh this one’s cute, oh so is this one, and Shaun’s mom will want to see that one”  etc. until I had quite a few to post. So here is our big girl at her party! And I collected things for months trying to find all kinds of ice cream theme things…I look at WAY too many dumb party blogs and need to stop… because i find myself going a liiiiiittle overboard…

Little Sue is 11 Months Old!

9:25 pm by Janelle. Filed under: News

One more month and this girl will be one year old!

She has these two little bottom teeth that crack me up. Her hair is getting curly. She’s kind of a sassy little thing when she wants to be…and a sweet little thing when she wants to be too. I think she eats more than I do.  She loves chairs. Climbing into them, kickin’ back, getting in, out, in, out…….in, out….She MUST knock over the Wii, then her business is done under the T.V. She is a fun little one and I can’t believe she has been here almost a year!

Fire Station

3:13 pm by Janelle. Filed under: News

Hopefully I will get a few updates on here in the next couple days…but for now here was Preston’s last preschool field trip to the fire station. It was fun and the kids loved it…most of them, anyway. I realized a few things while we were there though…they asked if we had a fire plan…uhh..not yet? A meeting place? No. A fire drill? No. Oh dear…I feel like a terrible parent. And it was nice that they got to see the fire fighter in all his gear because they told the kids to go to him if there was a fire and not run away. They look pretty scary in the mask ,helmet, fire suit…it never occurred to me that kids would be afraid, but it makes sense! So this was a good field trip for Preston, as well as myself!

Family Fun

12:48 pm by Janelle. Filed under: News

We’ve been out to do a few things here and there…exploring new frontiers and trekking to new heights :) We sound so adventurous…I had to go check out a place in Fairfield, CA (about an hour away) to find a good picture spot so I found this place called Rockville Hills Park. We decided to go and take a look around to see if it was what I was looking for…and it was AWESOME! Just gorgeous. Lots of tall green grass, oak trees, and hiking/mountain biking trails…endless amounts, it seemed, just winding through the hills. I wanted to stay all day, but it started sprinkling and we were in no way prepared for hiking and rain…I was in sandals and we took turns lugging Ada around. After returning home (and stopping at the Jelly Belly Factory to get there…) my grandpa (who was the Fairfield city Manager for a LOOOOOONG time) told me that he “stuck his neck out a mile” to preserve the hills of Fairfield and create Rockville Hills Park. I thought that was neat. Little did he know that his grand and great-grandkids would visit it years later and really enjoy the beauty up there!!

Our girl is 9 months old!

1:47 pm by Janelle. Filed under: News

Ada is 9 months old…it’s flying by. She is such a little sweetheart. She loves her brother and thinks he is hilarious…and of course he thinks he is hilarious too. Things she is obsessed with are: the stairs, the bathroom (nasty,) sticking her little hands into the tub of Aquaphor (pretty much like vaseline,) eating, getting dirty at the park, pushing over our little space heating fans, wrestling with Preston, eating, pulling out DVDs, pulling out the oven mitts, standing in the fridge, eating, playing with the printer…so basically she loves eating and playing with anything she isn’t supposed to be playing with.

I gave her a taste of my ice cream last night. After that she would flap her arms and make all kinds of racket until I gave her another taste. Once it was gone she was CLAWING her way to the bowl trying to get one last taste. Lover of all things sweet…just like her mom :)

She is such a little doll…and we are all pretty smitten.

What did we do this weekend?

1:50 pm by Janelle. Filed under: News

We did a lot of random things this weekend to try and entertain ourselves. It wasn’t the nicest or warmest weather we’ve experienced here so we spent a lot of time inside…and a few moments outside where we quickly remembered how freezing is was.

Preston is a board game lover and we “played” his NEW favorite board game (maybe my least favorite because of all the pieces…) And his favorite because of all the pieces.

Get out the camera and get to jumping…we can fill up a lot of time doing that. We’re weird. And looking at these pictures while writing this…I am realizing that we might be weirder than I thought…

January Recap

9:39 pm by Janelle. Filed under: News

Well, since today is the last day of January and I have only posted one thing I thought I might tell a little bit about the month of January. I like January. We’ve had some lovely weather. Rainy days have come here and there…some days I have claimed it to be FREEEEZING, but that’s just me being wimpy. I mean, Utah? Come on. Living there was cold. This is nothing. Who cares about the weather though? Why am I writing about it? …Let’s move on to slightly more exciting things.

On New year’s eve we went to the snow. Preston had a lot of fun. Ada was cold but we all still had a great time! The snow was pretty dry so our square snowman was the best we could get! The scouts (who we tagged along with) attempted an igloo. Again, the snow was so dry, it didn’t really work out! But Preston liked hanging out in it!

Little Miller turned 1 and Kelsey threw an ADORABLE monster party for him.

On the 15th was the birthday of my lovely, most awesome-mother-in-law-in-the-world! Also that day was my beautiful Grandma Strazzo’s birthday.

Later in the month we held a surprise party for my grandparents who both recently turned 80! Surprise parties are AWESOME! The suspense, the looks on their faces…just the best! They thought they were attending some fancy dinner and auction to benefit children with diabetes…good story uncle Mike. But the best part for me was after they walked in and after the greetings died down I asked grandpa, “how are you doing?” and he relpied, with a big grin on his face, “Really good. I’ve never been better.” Made me happy :)

I also turned a year older…27. Wow. Feels weird. I’m sure it just gets weirder. Thank you to everyone who made it an awesome day!

Today is my fantastic sister-in-law Amy’s birthday…HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU!!!

And it has been a good month. Full of birthdays and partying. What a great way to start out the year!
