Birthday Time

9:06 am by Janelle. Filed under: News

This one dates back to July…sorry for the back tracking…I promise I will get to the present….someday!

Preston turned 5 and we had a party! I had ideas of what I wanted to do and kept trying to persuade him that he wanted the same thing…didn’t work. He wanted a ninja party, so I figure OOOOOOKAY…it is his birthday and all…so we threw him a ninja party. At first I didn’t know what to do and then I got an idea and I couldn’t stop after that! In the end I think it turned out to be a fun party…at least the kids seemed to have fun, so that made me happy :)

It was a ninja training camp. They all got a booklet with things to pass of at camp: Board breaking (Styrofoam boards), ninja belt making, kicking (balloons hanging over the trampoline , punching (spider man punching bag), stealth (yarn wrapped around trees…like lasers…they had to sneak through), and ninja star throwing. They then received a sword as a reward for finishing training and fought bad guy balloons all over the yard. I wish I hadn’t been running all over like a crazy woman so I could have taken more pictures but I think the kids had a good time and most of all Preston got to hang out with some of his favorite people so I think that made the day for him!

I cannot believe that it was 5 years ago that he came into our lives! This also marks 5 years of being a mother and although it is tiring and hard sometimes, I love it!! This is what I wanted to be “when I grew up” and I am so blessed to be able to have children! An old lady at the grocery store told me “The days are long but the years are short.” How very true that is. They grow so fast and i am trying to savor it.

Shaun also had a birthday last month so happy extremely belated birthday to him too :) Love you.
