Slide show

I added in this slide show from our webshots gallery. It cuts people out of some of the pictures so if you want to see the full versions of them you are welcome to go to our webshots page! Camping was nice but even nicer to get home :) a couple sleepless nights for several reasons (I wont go into detail about them for you!)were definitely enough for us! We had fun fishing though! Shaun caught about 6 fish and i caught one! So that was nice and today we went with Nick and Lexie Cottle to 7 peaks water park. I couldn’t really do much but thats ok, it was still fun and nice to get in the water. We hope you are all enjoying this Memorial Day weekend! We love you all!

Happy Memorial Day!

11:30 am by Janelle. Filed under: News

YAY! It’s Friday! These weeks just keep going by so fast…which is nice because i love the weekends and because then we get to meet our baby sooner…but I need to just enjoy this time where it is just me and Shaun and where i can take this baby anywhere and he doesn’t cry! I know life is going to change a lot in a few months but we are both excited! (by the way, there are pictures from both Sacramento trips in our webshots gallery…nothing too exciting though!)

We went to the midwives this week for an appointment and it was great. I had to take my glucose test so I drank this orange soda that was not nearly as bad as I had heard! Then we met with one of the midwives and she was awesome! She sat and talked to us for about 45 minutes about the way they do things and what we wanted and everything. It was a huge change from our OBGYN. She measured my belly and checked the heart beat and all looks and sounds normal so far. She also felt to see where the baby was and right now he is head down but he is posterior, so facing forward. Hopefully he will flip over in the next 2 months! I’ve been doing my cat and cow yoga poses so hopefully that helps :)

Also, we just finished our 3rd week of Lamaze classes. We just have next week and we are done. I think this has been more of a”learn what happens in Labor and birth” class than a Lamaze class…but I guess it is helpful to be informed and to inform the husbands of what goes on too! We got a tour of the hospital and got to see the nursery and there was one baby who was only a few hours old…SO TINY AND PRECIOUS!! I know Shaun LOVES going to this 2.5 hours long class every week but he has been such a good sport! He is wonderful to me!

This weekend we are going camping with Dave and Susan Redding. Hopefully it is fun and I am not miserable!  we are going down to Pine Lake which is right outside of Bryce Canyon. The camp ground looks nice and so we are hoping to have a relaxing weekend.

I hope all of you have a great Memorial Day weekend as well! WE LOVE YOU!

Baby Shower

11:10 am by Janelle. Filed under: News

(I wrote this several days ago…but didn’t post it for some reason!)

Hello! I am back from California and back from a crazy, packed weekend! Well, maybe I just got tired out because I am pregnant, but it seemed like we were always out and about…but it was a lot of FUN! I got into town on Thursday and had a baby shower that night. We got a lot of CUTE things for little baby Edwards. He will be dressed for at least the first 3 months of life…and probably not wearing the same outfit twice :) Thank you so much to everyone who helped with the shower and to all who brought gifts for us! It is so helpful and definitely needed! I was able to see a lot of my family as well as some friends and ward members, so it was a fun evening of chatting women! And my sister-in-law, Jami, made the CUTEST onesie cookies, I wish I had a picture, they were absolutely adorable!

Friday was Jami’s birthday and so we all went down to Old Sac and ate on the river at Joe’s Crab Shack. It was fun and so nice to sit there by the river and eat! We then went into one of the many old fashioned candy shops down there and filled our buckets with candy…probably too much candy, but oh well!!

I was able to go to my good friend Whitney’s sealing in the Sacramento temple. That was so awesome! The rooms are so new and everything is just beautiful! Being there made me realize what a wonderful blessing it is to be a member of the church and how amazing it is that we are able to be sealed to our spouses and our families for time and eternity. It doesn’t just end here! So that was a nice way to spend my Saturday afternoon!

Anyway, it was a nice little vacation and it was good to see my family again. It’s nice to be back with my husband though! I thought it might be easier the longer we are married to be away for a couple nights but it just seems to get harder! I just love to be with him! But he has great friends who take care of him while I am gone and make sure he isn’t bored!

Ok, I am done rambling! I hope you are all having a great day! Love you!

Third Trimester…the home stretch!

10:16 am by Janelle. Filed under: News

I am about to step into the 3rd Trimester! Wow, the second trimester seemed to go by so much faster than the first! And hopefully the third will go by fast too and we can meet our baby! My good friend Brooke just had her little girl yesterday! I went to the hospital and held her. she was so little with a bow glued onto her head (probably so the nurses know who’s a boy and who’s a girl…they all look the same!) She delivered at Orem Community Hospital, which is the hospital that I will be delivering at now. The room was SO nice! It was like a home…very spacious, wood floors, modern wall paper…a couch/bed for the new dad, a big bathroom with a tub…it was really nice! She labored, delivered, and is recovering in that same room so that is nice too. I also went to my appointment at the Midwife Clinic there at the hospital for the first time. They were all so much nicer and more concerned than the doctor’s office I was at before! The lady sat down with me and asked questions and she was pregnant as well so she totally understood the aches, pains, and discomforts that often go along with pregnancy so it was a pretty good visit. Definitely not as crowded and rushed as the OBGYN.  At my next appointment I get to do the glucose test which sounds like a lot of fun…ok not really, but hopefully that goes well and I have no signs of gestational diabetes.

Well, not much else is new and exciting with us…Shaun just finished up a semester and also started another this week. He is working at a track meet that BYU is hosting this weekend so he’ll be working from 7-7 today and tomorrow! Two LONG days! Poor guy! Hopefully we can find something fun to do Saturday night so he actually feels like he has had a weekend.

There are a few pictures from Sacramento in our Webshots gallery…just a few from when Tyler went through the temple, we are all outside the Sacramento Temple. It’s beautiful…but you can’t really tell because it is dark! Oh well! We love you all and hope life is treating you wonderfully! Take care!
