This weekend

11:41 am by Janelle. Filed under: Uncategorized

This past weekend has been somewhat of a crazy one…i thought! Our Friday night consisted of going to Target. We are SO much fun :) Then Saturday Shaun was able to work with the head of Media relations for the BYU football team and with the other interns in that office. He got to go up into the press box and even down on the field. He had a lot of fun…and I was especially jealous because Tucanos caters the games up there…so he had all of the food he could eat…and it’s really good food!!  Anyway, while he was there I went with Cat to this health and wellness center. We were de-toxified! It was super weird and pretty gross…but really cool too! We sat on this bench and put our feet in a tub of water. Then the guy put this “ionizer” in the water and some salt too so that it would make the charge in the water one thing and pull out all of the oppositely charged ions in our bodies through our feet. By the end our tubs were a dark orange brown color with lots of filmy, foamy nasties on top! It was seriously so gross looking!! But nice to know that all of that wasn’t in our bodies anymore!

That night we went with Nick and Lexie to a Blessed Union of Souls concert. Nick had free tickets, so that was fun.

That night i also found out my mom went into the hospital! She was having pains in her heart and in her jaw and she just didn’t want to chance anything…which i am glad for! She thought it would be just as before when she would go in. They would keep her over night and then let her go in the morning. Well, they decided that they wanted to look inside her heart to see how everything looked. Yikes! She had this done the last time she had a heart attack and i think she could feel the camera going all the way up from her groin into her heart (I’m pretty sure you aren’t supposed to feel it!) So we were all worried about her. On Sunday, as we fasted for Amy on her mission, we also fasted for my mom. She went in for the angiogram Sunday afternoon and shortly after, my dad called and said the Doctor came out and told him that her arteries were perfect! No more shredding, weak arteries…they are all healed! Heavenly Father blesses us so much! I am so grateful for his love and willingness to bless his children! And as he blessed my mother, I know he will also bless Amy!

One more thing…I went to the Doctor today and he said we are good to go to start trying to have a baby again, so we will keep you updated! Hopefully by Christmas or sometime in January…but we will just see how things go! I love you all and can’t wait for Thanksgiving!!

Pictures of Shaun Proposing…

So, when Shaun proposed to me our friends Ryan and Andrea were hiding in the bushes taking pictures of the whole thing! Well, Andrea just e-mailed me those pictures today so i thought i would put them in our web shots gallery so that everyone can see them! They are a little blurry, but i guess it would be hard to get pictures while trying to pop up and down unnoticed! So thank you to Ryan and Andrea for capturing this moment! I was so excited to get these! I love you all!

Statue of Responsibility

10:23 pm by shaun. Filed under: Uncategorized

Just so ya’ll know, I am not sitting on a board with the cheif officers of the foundation, but I am on a PR committee with a friend of mine. We are, however, doing work with the CEO of the foundation as we try tom promote some fund raising events. The foundation is a really amazing thing, and promotes a very powerful idea– social responsibility to ensure liberty.

For those who aren’t familiar with Dr. Viktor Frankl, he was an Austrian psychiatrist, who spent three years in Nazi concentration camps because he was Jewish. He wrote a book about his experiences, and how he found meaning in his sufferings. He later proposed the idea for the Statue of Responsibility. I found his book, Man’s Search for Meaning when I was in high school–it was sitting on my parents bookshelf– and reading changed me life. Since then I have read it on a yearly basis.

I am very excited to be working for something that I believe in very strongly and be gaining great work experience in the communications field at the same time. Anyway, if anyone has any questions, shoot them my way. Hope all is well with all who read this. God bless you.

Hi there, i am at work right now. There isn’t anything that is really new, i just thought i would write something! I am going back to California for a little weekend get-away, i am pretty excited. I get to go and work an event at Tricks and see all the cute little kids i used to work with so that will be SO fun! It’s like 80 degrees back there, so i dont think i’ll mind that! I dont know what Shaun will do but i think he can entertain himself for the weekend!

Wow, i am trying to think of anything new and there really isn’t anything!! We are so exciting! I found out that i am ranked #1 in my Fitness for life class…i guess i can brag about that (except for the fact that it is a pretty easy class so that isn’t a HUGE deal…but it sounds nice!) Shaun Has been doing great on all of his trests and mid-terms so far (that i know of) He was just made a board member for the Statue of Responsibility Foundation (http://www.sorfoundation.org/) which he is so excited about. You should check out the website and see what they are all about, it is really neat…perhaps something that could go down in the history books, which is something Shaun has always wanted to do! Dr. Viktor Frankl wrote about having a statue that was on the west coast to kind of be book ends to the nation with the Statue of liberty. So one for liberty on one side and one for Social Responsibility on the other…so they have a few different places on the west coast that they are looking into to build it…I believe he is on the board with some pretty prominent people. I think Stephen Covey is on the board as well…so anyway, that is one huge thing that Shaun is really excited about! Well, speaking of Shaun, i need to go pick him up and then take and Anatomy test, wish me luck! I love you all!!

The babe…

4:56 pm by Janelle. Filed under: Janelle,News

We have been having problems with the pregnancy and, well, we received the news today that the little baby that was in me is not longer in there. But you know what, whatever happened was God’s will. We prayed that his will be done and that is just what happened. For some reason that little one wasn’t ready to come down. We will be trying again soon, and at the very least we know that we have been blessed with fertility which is a blessing that many women do not have! So, all of you who were excited to be grandparents, aunts, uncles…2nd cousins…no worries! It will happen soon…or at least in the near future so just keep waiting and we’ll be working on it ;) We love you all and thank you for your prayers!
